Snow Day!

It snowed all day today in Austin, leaving about 1 1/2 inches of snow on the ground. Snow in Austin is extremely rare ... the weather guy said it has snowed about seven times in the last decade.
Nico and I were lucky that it was one of my days off and we got to enjoy the "blizzard" together. He enjoyed watching the snow fall but wasn't interested in touching it.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day morning was beautiful in Austin, so we headed to Zilker Park. Unfortunately, the minute we got out of the car, a cold front blew in. Needless to say, we didn't stay long, but were able to capture a few quick pics of Nico playing on the old fire truck.

Nico's Favorite Book

Nico hasn't taken much interest in books until recently. When we read to him, he'll pay attention for a few minutes and then he's off to find something more exciting to do. Nico likes Green Eggs and Ham and will giggle when I read it, but his favorite book is one that he got for his birthday from his buddy Carter. The book is called A Color of His Own and is about a chameleon who wants a color of his own like other animals -- pigs are pink, elephants are gray, etc. The chameleon finds a friend and they stick together so that they will always be alike.

Nico likes this book so much that he looks at it by himself and often kisses it! (This is the only thing that Nico kisses.) I hope this is the beginning of his love for books and not chameleons!
