Trick-or-Treat!

Nico had a blast trick-or-treating! This was a huge relief for me and Nic because we had no idea how it would go down. Nico is very shy when he first meets new people, so we didn't think he would take to knocking on strangers' doors and accepting treats. Boy were we wrong! Once he got the hang of it, he was ready to go. He loved the idea of getting treats at every house.

After the first house, he wanted to open the treat (pretzels) right away. He didn't want to put it in his bucket and he certainly didn't want mama or dada to have any! After about the third house, he got the concept and started putting the treats in his bag rather than hoard them in his little hands.

Serious skeleton

The skeleton went trick-or-treating with Spiderman. (Our neighbor Garrison)

Taking the treat and running! (This was the first or second house before he knew what to do.)

"Trick-or-treat! Smell my feet!"

Enjoying a piece of candy after making the rounds.

Here's our little skeleton at school with his teacher and friends.

Pumpkin Carving

This year, Nico's interest in carving the pumpkin was minimal, which is no change from last year. (Why am I surprised? He's not even two! I guess I've always liked carving pumpkins and wanted him to share in the fun.)
Nico thought the pumpkin insides and seeds were gross and didn't want to touch them. Oh well ... there's always next year.

Checking out the inside of the pumpkin.

Trying to move the pumpkin.

Inspecting the seeds.

Happy with the final product!

"Hey Mr. Pumpkin!"
