Nico meets his cousin from NYC

Last weekend, we took a trip to Corpus Christi to introduce Nico to his New York City cousin Addison, who is 12 days older than Nico, and her parents, Jeff and Jill. Nico also got to meet his Great-aunt Char from Florida and cousin Amanda from Kansas. Nico and Addie were spoiled by all the attention and presents and had a great time!

Nico at 3 months

Our little Nico is three months old already! I don't have an official weight because he doesn't go to the doctor for a well-check until April. But, according to our home scale, he weighs around 16 pounds. Luckily, I went through his clothes and started washing his size six month outfits, because he is now wearing them! We would have missed out on some cute get-ups if I would have waited much longer.

The little guy is smiling like crazy and interacts with us all day. This is so much fun and makes my heart melt! Recently, he discovered his hands and loves sucking on them. We think he might be getting ready to cut a tooth because he's drooling and has a little white bump on his lower gum line. (We'll see what happens.) He's babbling a lot and has gotten louder and louder because he likes to hear himself talk.

Nico is a great baby, the only thing we need to work on is sleeping through the night. We are still up two or three times a night. Luckily, he goes right back to sleep. Sometimes we fall asleep together in the rocking chair and Nic has to wake me up! (Nico is a good sleeper like his mom. He just likes to have a few "snacks" throughout the night. )

Ten things I love about Nico at 3 months (in no particular order):

1. That large, toothless, gummy smile! Melts my heart!
2. Those beautiful blue eyes and long eyelashes
3. The silky mop-top head of reddish-brown hair
4. The way he chuckles when a cold wipe touches his bum
5. The way he purrs when he's happily nursing
6. Those chubby, wubby legs
7. The way he looks at me like he's so in love and nothing else matters
8. The fact that he's so happy sleeping on daddy or mommy's chest
9. That he loves watching sports with his daddy
10. He loves cuddling and kisses. (I dread the day he is embarrassed to cuddle or get kisses from his mom and dad.)

I couldn't stop at ten, so here are a few more things that I love ...
*The way he sticks out his bottom lip when he doesn't get something he wants or is about to lose it.
*The adorable dimple that appears on his left cheek when he smiles.
*The way he makes very serious "thinker" faces just like his daddy.

Nico's first trip to Aggieland

Last weekend, we took Nico to College Station for the first of many Aggie athletic events. We watched the Aggie men's basketball team beat number 12 Mizzou. It was a great game and Nico had a blast! He was perfect throughout the game and was fascinated by the lights, sounds and people. He even waited until half-time to eat because he didn't want to miss a thing!

Before the game, we were lucky enough to attend a luncheon and listen to one of the assistant coaches speak (thank you Caton). While at the luncheon, I bumped into one of my dear friends and former boss, Sherry. I worked for her during college at University Relations and we have kept in touch throughout the years. She was a fabulous mentor and taught me so much of what I know today.

After the game, we took Nico to his daddy's favorite college hang out ... the front porch of Duddley's.

Let's go fly a kite ...

On Sunday, our little family went to the Zilker Kite Festival. The weather was perfect for kite flying ... mid-60s, sunny and breezy with not a cloud in the sky.

All tuckered out
