Happy 4th of July!

We stayed in Austin this year for the holiday and hung out with friends, swam, relaxed and ate lots of yummy food ... exactly what a 4th of July holiday should be.

We went to Academy to get Nico a larger life jacket for our trip to the lake. He loved his jacket and wanted to wear it in the store along with a cowboy hat that he found. What a ham!


Laura, my suite mate from college, was visiting from Switzerland and we were lucky enough to be able to hang out with her at her family's place on Lake Travis.




We got to meet cutie-patootie baby Luke. Nico was so sweet to Luke -- he would rock Luke's chair and try to feed him chips.




Nico got to ride a jet ski with daddy and loved it! He kept telling daddy to go faster.

Urban Assault

Nic and I competed in the Urban Assault Race as a team this year. We hit 10 check-points throughout Austin in less than four hours. Despite me getting overwhelmed from the heat, we had a blast!

Port Aransas Part III: Fishing

Nico caught his first fish (of many) and was a natural! Great granddad and daddy would bait the hook, and within a minute of dropping the line in the water, Nico would snag a fish. It was so fun!

Port Aransas Part II: Anniversary Celebration

Katybob celebrated 65 years of wedded bliss! 65 years! They are such an inspiration and so fun to watch together. After all these years, you can still see the love between them ... it is beautiful!

Port Aransas Part I: The Beach

We took the Airstream to Port Aransas to spend a long weekend at the beach and celebrate Nic's grandparents' 65th wedding anniversary.

Nico was six months old the last time we took him to the beach, so we weren't sure what to expect. (Sometimes he doesn't like sand/dirt on his feet.) No worries ... this kid was in heaven!
