Thomas the Tank!

In September, Nico's favorite engine made a stop near Austin, so of course, daddy and Nico made a special trip to the train station.

11 weeks

I'm now 17 weeks and next week, we get to find out the sex of the baby! Other than awful morning (all day) sickness that lasted until week 15, things are going great.

We're Back to Blogging and Nico's Got News!

It was a loooooong hot summer, but we are back, and Nico is ready to tell the world that he's going to be a big brother! We are all so excited to add another member to our family in early May.

When we ask Nico if he wants a little brother or little sister, he responds, "No ... I want a BIG sister!" When we ask Nico what he wants to name his little brother or little sister, he has provided us with several names to consider, including: Ladybug, Peace, Joey and Jason. (Interesting choices Nico.)

Stay tuned ... we've got lots to catch up on including our summer vacation, Halloween and more baby news!

Whew!

I think I'm finally caught up on blogging. I back-dated about six posts, so you'll have to scroll back if you missed 'em.

We are busy and having fun this summer despite the unbelievable heat. Today's high in Austin was 105, and we are now at 41 days of triple-digit heat for the year! Crazy!

Somebody Got A Haircut

Although I didn't want to cut his long hair ... it was time. We couldn't keep the hair out of his eyes and we didn't want to have to resort to using a bow or rubber band!

(For the record, this is Nico's third professional hair cut.)

Happy 4th of July!

We stayed in Austin this year for the holiday and hung out with friends, swam, relaxed and ate lots of yummy food ... exactly what a 4th of July holiday should be.

Digging in

We went to Academy to get Nico a larger life jacket for our trip to the lake. He loved his jacket and wanted to wear it in the store along with a cowboy hat that he found. What a ham!

Laura, my suite mate from college, was visiting from Switzerland and we were lucky enough to be able to hang out with her at her family's place on Lake Travis.

We got to meet cutie-patootie baby Luke. Nico was so sweet to Luke -- he would rock Luke's chair and try to feed him chips.

Nico got to ride a jet ski with daddy and loved it! He kept telling daddy to go faster.

Urban Assault

Nic and I competed in the Urban Assault Race as a team this year. We hit 10 check-points throughout Austin in less than four hours. Despite me getting overwhelmed from the heat, we had a blast!
